Commercial Lead (Proposals Coordinator)

Location: Paris- France

We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

 

ROLE OVERVIEW

The position of commercial Lead is part of the Sales & Marketing department within the AMEC Region.

The commercial Lead is responsible for the overall coordination of the multidisciplinary effort needed to establish Subsea7's proposals from the pre-qualification phase up to the negotiation phase prior award.

The tenders cover a broad variety of projects from small service contracts to EPCI contracts in the SURF and Conventional markets. Depending on the magnitude and complexity of the tender, the commercial lead may be autonomously responsible for the proposal or may second a Project Manager.

The position reports to the Africa & Caspian Tendering Manager

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Overall coordination and supervision of Subsea7's tendering team (Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Operation, Supply Chain, HSEQ, Fabrication, Legal, Finance and Tax).
  • Maintain a regular and cautious contact with Client (correspondence, clarification, calls and negotiation meetings).
  • Ensure the timely preparation and consolidation of the technical and commercial offers.
  • Develop valuable and competitive offers through the elaboration of a value proposition and a scrutiny of the costs.
  • Supervise the elaboration of the main commercial elements (Supply Chain recommendations, Contractual and tax scheme, overall project schedule, cost estimate, risk management, local content philosophy, HSEQ plan and Contractual and Commercial qualifications).
  • Ensure adherence to Subsea7's tendering procedures.
  • Prepare internal documents for the endorsement of submissions by Senior Management.
  • Maintain complete records throughout the bidding process to ensure decision traceability and ultimately efficient handover to project team.
  • Provide regular feedback to Tendering Management.

 PROFILE 

The Position is open to various profiles working for a minimum of 5 years in the oil and gas sector and with various professional backgrounds. A significant technical experience in Engineering or Operation Departments associated with a first exposure to commercial challenges would be appreciated.

  • Ability to organize and coordinate team work as well as to promote collaboration within the team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written).
  • A sedulous and organized worker able to deliver under time pressure.
  • Willingness to discover the multi-pronged dimension (technology, execution, legal & contract, finance, commercial) of our projects
  • Rigorous to ensure adherence to the Tendering procedures.
  • Committed to the highest level of confidentiality and staunchness
  • Ability to take an overall view and critical mind
  • Available for travel on short mission basis.
