POSITION OVERVIEW
Subsea 7 has an exciting opportunity for a Digitalisation Intern to work as part of the Digitalisation team on a 6 month contract basis. This position will be based at our Sutton, London office. The successful candidate will work with the digitalisation team to support with manipulation of date, creating programs to automate this process.
KEY ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
- Work as part of an Agile solution delivery team.
- Collaborate with leadership, engineers, IT and data scientists to understand data needs.
- Help with analysis of Subsea 7’s existing data sources and data collection processes.
- Develop and deploy code based automated data pipelines to extract data into a cloud-based data platform.
- Design and build of insightful visualisations and quality assessments on top of extracted datasets.
- Assist with the implementation of a data governance framework around extracted datasets.
- Translate technical solutions into understandable formats for all levels of technical competencies.
- Assist with troubleshooting and route cause problem analysis of coding defects.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Key Skills and Experience
- A proven interest in computer science, programming, digitalisation and information management.
- Proven programming experience with a modern language; Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, Scala.
- Experience with data mining and data transformation via automated data pipelines.
- Experience with SQL queries and relational database technologies.
- Strong communication / collaboration skills.
Desired Skills
- Experience and understanding of data modelling and date querying.
- Understand the basics of designing and implementing a data schema.
- Experience with Dataframe date structures.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop.
- Experience with contributing to a shared codebase using version control toolkits (Git).
- Experience with data visualisation software (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView.
