ABOUT THE Project Cost Controller POSITION

The Project Cost Controller ensures accurate, timely and value-added analysis and reporting of cost in the Country.  The discipline contributes to the effective running of projects and comprises responsibility for, but not limited to cost performance status and financial reporting.

 

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

 

Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities

 

  • Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the cost control activities within assigned projects
  • Interface with budget owners on a regular basis to review commitments and challenge budgets
  • Continuously ensure that a change management process is in place and be pro-active in early identification of deviations and corrective actions
  • Analyze variances from As Sold to Current Estimate At Completion by building a detailed monthly analysis of variances from prior forecast
  • Establish and maintain project WBS/NWA structure in SAP
  • Implement Variation Orders and track Variation Orders performance
  • Assist the project manager in the preparation of a monthly financial sensitivity analysis for their projects
  • Ensure full coherence and utilization of cost control systems for budgeting purposes and report key performance indicators throughout the project
  • Perform monthly accounting closing, determine, explain and post project cost accruals and unbilled Revenue in SAP monthly
  • Determine project Job Income based on cost complete method monthly
  • Prepare and issue all project invoices and maintain invoice register updated. Prepare the Revenue Reconciliation monthly
  • Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period
  • Prepare project cash flows in support of the Group's Treasury requirements for cash flow forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, process and procedures and strive for continual improvement and the application of best practice

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree qualified ideally in Cost Management, Project Management, Finance or Engineering
  • Broad experience of delivering Cost Control on various types and size of project or relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in the subsea or offshore environment
  • Experience in SAP and EcoSys
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Accounting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills. Comfortable with numbers manipulation
  • Ability to proactively look for and identify improvement solutions
  • A high attention to detail and a fundamental desire for delivering the best possible product at all time, including the ability to deal efficiently with priorities and manage time appropriately
  • This position could be requalified as Senior Project Cost Controller, depending on the experience of the applicant
