Subsea 7 have a requirement for a Subsea Valve Engineer to be in either of our Global Project Centres of London (Sutton) and Paris (Suresnes). 

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

Specific Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Be technically responsible for subsea valve procurement.
  • Support studies and projects for valve design evaluation and selection.
  • Prepare specifications/design premises, including development of valve procurement Scope of Work.
  • Prepare cost estimates and material take-off for studies and tenders.
  • Review and approval of supplier documentation.
  • Be familiar with company and client’s standards/procedures.
  • Provide manufacturing follow-up at suppliers’ facilities, including QC site visits if applicable.
  • Liaise with the relevant stakeholders, E.g. supply chain, pre-commissioning-, structural design- and fabrication discipline.

 Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering degree (Masters or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering).
  • Strong technical knowledge within subsea valve technology. Preferably also including Subsea Connection Systems.
  • Proven experience within technical procurement, engineering and/or design of subsea valves.
  • Extended knowledge of standards for valve design, manufacturing, and testing, such as API 6A, API 17D, API 6DSS, DNV, ISO and ASME.

AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS:

Subsea Valve Engineer reports to the GPC and AP Valve and Connectors Lead Engineer alongside the GPC Structures and Piping Discipline Manager.

EXTERNAL

  • Subcontractors and suppliers for engineering and procurement activity.
  • Clients for Technical Reviews, follow-up of suppliers.
  • Relevant professional bodies and institutes.

INTERNAL

  • Project Management team.
  • Key Disciplines – Materials, Welding and Coating, Structures, Piping, Fabrication and SCM.
  • Project partners – OSS, Xodus and FDG.
  • Offshore Managers and Site Supervisors.
