POSITION OVERVIEW

Subsea 7 has an opportunity for a Field Development Manager specialising in Electrical Systems. This is a full-time permanent role. As a part of the Global Field Development Group, the Field Development Manager will be responsible for defining and developing Oil & Gas and New Energy systems, solutions, offerings to meet our clients’ future needs. Working closely with key stakeholders, the Field Development Manager will play an integral part in shaping and supporting the future direction of the Subsea 7 offering.

Role and Responsibility

  • Defining the systems and solutions of our future Low Carbon Oil & Gas and Energy Transition portfolio in conjunction with our strategy team.
  • Shaping our technology innovation & development at a system level through understanding the market needs & drivers and driving the development of business cases for new solutions.
  • Working with our regions to engage our clients in Energy Transition areas to develop and drive forward our systems and solutions.
  • Supporting the development of our digital strategy for the early lifecycle phase through the development of our Front End Planning tools.
  • Identifying the need for, and development of, the required organisations and resources within the regions.
  • Building relationships with key strategic partners to help leverage the value of our combined offering.

Specifically, the Electrical Systems role will be responsible for:

  • Focal point for Host Electrification and offshore electrical power distribution within the early engagement space.
  • Defining systems solutions incorporating electrical systems across the energy transition.
  • Working collaboratively with the Field Development Managers with the Energy Systems team to integrate electrical systems within our Energy Transition portfolio.
  • Shaping the FDG team to support the business electrification needs.

The role will require the following core capabilities

  • Solid Field Development & Operations knowledge at systems level.
  • Understanding of customers’ capital value process, Capital Budgeting & Field Development value drivers.
  • Effective client communication.
  • Able to identify overall solution value drivers & understand impact on solution selection.
  • Ability to clearly identify and articulate value proposition within a solution.
  • Able to collaborate with & support Sales, Business Development, Strategy and Field Development Group teams.
  • Act as an ambassador for Subsea 7 promoting our technical solution and differentiators.
  • All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive culture within Subsea 7.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of HV electrical systems and their application in the offshore environment including topside equipment and subsea cables.
  • Candidates must have proven Field Development & Operations experience working to a similar level.
  • Demonstrates a background in client or consultant roles supporting early stage field development and / or operations support activity. Some knowledge or experience of contractor / service company environments is desirable but not essential.
  • Candidate should be degree qualified in relevant discipline related to the subsea oilfield environment.
  • Candidate should show a commitment to their own continuing professional development.

Profile & Skills

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn with ability to adapt and develop new skillsets.
  • Candidates would typically be expected to demonstrate a sound general ability across wide subject areas, comfortable working in a highly changeable environment typical of early phase development planning and able to demonstrate an ability to focus on value enhancing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, oral, written and electronic, able to lead effective communication across the team to deliver solutions in a complex environment that meet clients’ needs.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a multi discipline environment with ability to prioritise own and others’ workload.
  • Able to demonstrate a flexible and collaborative approach to engaging across organisational groups and regions.
