Position Overview

Responsible for the delivery of technical inputs into the PG tendering process, as well as the maintenance, improvements and generation of all Welding, Materials, NDT and Field Joint Coating models, norms and processes. The Tendering Technical Lead will provide direction, mentoring and guidance to all Technical Group Engineers, involved in the tendering process, to ensure consistent and repeatable tendering.

Position Accountability

  • The position is given accountability according to the global Authorisation Matrix and Company Code of Business Conduct.
  • Mandate in accordance with current regional Approval Matrix.

Position Responsibilities

Promote and ensure compliance with the PG Production Team philosophies and commitment to Subsea 7 vision and values

Develop and provide effective interfaces

  • Build / enhance relationships between PG Production departments, PG, wider Subsea7 and end client

Manage Tender Submissions

  • Support Business Development and Commercial Department during the preparation of tender submissions and negotiations
  • Lead and manage the preparation of the technical solutions and technical qualifications for bids, to meet client enquiry requirements and best practice
  • Lead the development and implementation of accurate estimate of time, resource and materials and all the required models and norms.
  • Lead the identification of technical risks
  • Create and maintain a norms process to provide historical check against past project and best practice
  • Create standardised cycle time generators for production prediction and modelling.

Lead the development of systems / procedures and delivery of excellence

  • Monitor technical developments / requirements and evaluate implications for PG Production
  • Assist Technical Director to identify, develop and improve tools and systems to enable the technical group to execute and deliver tenders more effectively.
  • Evaluate lessons learned for similar projects and ensure improvements implemented for upcoming tenders.

Qualifications and experience:

  • HNC minimum – Degree preferable in an appropriate Engineering Subject
  • European / International Welding Engineer Qualification – preferable but not essential
  • Extensive Engineer Level Experience
  • Previous Pipeline Experience
