Business Development Manager 

Location: Luanda- Angola

Job Description:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for applying the Business Development Process to the West African Market (and any other assigned Markets/Countries), working in coordination with Sales for the AMEC region (Africa, Middle East and Caspian) and Marketing Team.

The Business Development Manager must identify key Customers and Strategic Partners, determine, develop and execute engagement strategies to develop and maintain relationships.

The candidate also supports and maintains the Customer and Competitor databases for the West African Market (and any other assigned Markets/Countries), to maintain data on Customer Prospects/Opportunities, as well as Competitor and Partner activity and capacity.

For identified prospects, the Business Development Manager must carry out search planning (preparation of plans and presentations), assist in the Customer's early engagement strategies, including basic technical and/or operational assessment for entry into search plans and engagement with other functions and Subsea 7 internal service providers.

 

Main responsibilities and generic activities:

  • Operate within standardized Sales and Marketing policies, processes and systems
  • Support the development and implementation of the strategy for local accounts through customer understanding; identifying opportunities and translating the strengths and weaknesses of Subsea 7's competitors into a chart of accounts.
  • Collecting and providing marketing intelligence for current and future work.
  • Identification of future key projects and contractor/alliance requirements.
  • Key Account Manager responsible for the client/client relationship with the assigned companies and for supporting the delivery of sustainable business development and client satisfaction.
  • Support and develop pursuit plans to position Subsea 7.
  • Support unit/escalate problem resolution to customer and Subsea satisfaction 7.
  • Support resource development through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback, and ongoing professional training.
  • Assist in coordinating participation in local Conferences, including organizing and scheduling executive meetings with key Customers and Partners.
  • Ensuring that Sales and Marketing capitalize on lessons learned and are executed in accordance with best practices, seeking to mitigate risks, consistently promoting safety and integrity
  • Maintain and update the Client 365 database as part of the sales and marketing team.
  • Maintain and update an internal database to monitor and track competitor activity and capacity.

 

MAIN QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified degree (ideally in Engineering, Business Management, Marketing) or similar.
  • Desirable postgraduate qualification (Master's, MBA or similar).
  • Previous relevant experience at an appropriate level in a similar environment with a strong preference for experience in a similar role in Africa.
  • Experience in the subsea oil and gas sector.
