Graduate Cost Engineer 

BUSINESS UNIT: Subsea 7 AMEC

REPORTS TO: Projects Control Manager

OFFICE LOCATION: KSA

We provide project management, engineering, and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

Under supervision a Graduate Cost Engineer assists Senior Cost Controllers on cost control functions including using cost control software tools to analyse financial data: budgets analysis, re-forecasts, financial reporting, cash-flow.

The work scope is supporting projects in Middle East region. The Graduate Engineer will normally participate in the Graduate Engineer Development Scheme (GEDS) involving off-the-job training, on-the-job development, mentoring and self development.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Using spreadsheets and cost control software to analyse financial data.
  • Be able to assist project cost engineer for creating and analysing budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
  • Allocating costs to categories and business areas.
  • Tracking labour hours and verifying supplier invoices.
  • Analysing variances on forecasted profits and expenses.
  • Visiting project sites to observe workflows.
  • Planning and managing costs, project scope and scope changes.
  • Cash flow forecast
  • Support to client invoicing process
  • Makes effort to become aware of all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements.
  • Participates in meetings/correspondence with Clients, consortium partner and etc. in a junior capacity.

AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

  • Operate within the Business Code of Conduct.
  • Operate according to Subsea 7's Management Principles.
  • Support standards and procedures for the Project Control and Cost Control Functions.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate in a relevant Quantity Surveying or Finance Management or science degree.
  • May have some directly related work experience.
