Within Subsea 7, our Pipeline Group team has the key responsibility to plan and execute offshore pipeline installation for the Oil and Gas industry and for the Energy transition.

Who we are looking for?

Due to our continued growth, Subsea 7 have exciting permanent staff opportunities for Pipeline Project Engineers to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team responsible for the full installation process from the procedure preparation right up to following through the offshore operations. Our engineers are responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects and tenders with specific focus on safe and cost effective installation operations.

These roles will be based in our Singapore office and due to restrictions the preference would be for those who are either Singapore nationals or those who have a current right to work in the country but we can give consideration to those who do not hold this depending on their level of experience.

You will be part of a team of installation engineers, dealing with different pipeline installation methods (S&J Lay, reel lay) for a package of work on either a project or tender. You will help support the efficient day-to-day running of the installation engineering team and provide regular operational reports on general project engineering activities, technical subject matters and resource management.

What does the role involve?

Duties of the Pipeline Project Engineers can involve but are not limited to:

  • Working with and in some cases managing delegated external interfaces such as clients, subcontractors, etc and internal interfaces , such as SCM, etc.
  • Be a technical reference for pipeline installation and contribute to the subcontractors selection
  • Involved in the conceptual studies
  • Perform installation procedures
  • Ensure that installation procedures and associated calculations are in line
  • Ensure that specifications and norms related to the project are respected
  • Provide support to offshore operations with short periods offshore or on yard
  • Participate actively to engineers training and development,
  • Participate actively to the PG department know-how consolidation,
  • Propose innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction

What do you need to have?

  • You will have 2-5 years experience working within offshore pipelaying in a similar role, equivalent experience in similar projects may be considered.
  • Previous experience working on pipelay projects (i.e. Reel Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay) is beneficial.
  • Previous offshore worksite experience will be beneficial.
  • Collaborative team worker able to work autonomously and take ownership.
  • You should be a strong communicator, able to speak with all levels within the business, who is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team
  • You will have excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management
  • You will be highly motivated and be able to show a demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
  • You should have a commitment to Continuing Professional Development
  • This role may involve short spells of overseas travel so candidates may need to show a willingness and flexibility
