Subsea 7 is a global leader in the delivery of seabed-to-surface projects for the energy industry. Subsea electrical power distribution is an integral part of our large variety of technologies and project deliverables. Key application of our Subsea Power technologies is:

  • Subsea processing
  • Flowline heating
  • Next generation inspection and maintenance systems
  • Renewable power generation from offshore wind parks
  • Subsea power generation and storage

Norway is an engineering hub for development and implementation of Subsea Power Distribution, and we have a need to strengthen the capability and capacity within the area of expertise. Working within the Flexibles and Umbilicals design discipline, you will be given the opportunity to follow the product from early design phase trough fabrication, installation and start of production in field.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support Subsea 7 Global technology development for subsea electrical power
  • Drive the design of electrical power distribution systems for our studies, tenders and projects
  • Manage the technical interface to subcontractors for design and manufacture of systems and equipment
  • Assist engineering management in organizational development for further development of electrical power distribution

Capability profile / Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) – Electrical Engineering / Electrical Power Systems
  • Relevant work experience with design of HV and MV electrical power distribution systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from subsea engineering or manufacturing/design of electrical cables or umbilicals
  • Good understanding of subsea control systems for electrical power distribution, and components related to subsea control systems.
  • Knowledge on design and relevant rules, regulations and best practices

  • Positive & Open minded
  • Good mixture of practical and theoretical understanding is a preference
  • Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
