  • Subsea 7 is a global leader in the delivery of seabed-to-surface projects for the energy industry.
  • Unbonded flexible pipes and umbilicals are an integral part of our large variety of technologies and project deliverables. Working within the Flexibles and Umbilicals design discipline, you will be given the opportunity to follow the product from early design phase trough installation and start of production of the products. Our discipline also follow up other products (cables, TCP etc.) and there is a potential to gain experience from these products as well.
  • Subsea 7 Norway has many ongoing and future studies and projects involving flexibles and umbilicals and we have a need to strengthen the capability and capacity within the area of expertise.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support any internal queries related to design of flexibles and/or umbilicals
  • Define requirements for flexible or umbilical systems as part of early phase studies
  • Develop and manage the technical scope of work document for flexible or umbilical systems as part of studies and tenders
  • Be responsible for performing the technical review of subcontract tenders to ensure that the delivery is in accordance with our requirements
  • Act as day to day technical point of contact with the subcontractor
  • Review all subcontractor technical documents and ensure that other relevant technical experts as required are included in the review of the document
  • Ensure a live communication line towards the engineering organization for sourcing of technical experts for detailed technical scopes

Capability profile / Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) – broad variety of specializations are of interest, typically mechanical/marine, material and electrical
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from subsea engineering or manufacturing/design of umbilicals or flexible pipes
  • Knowledge on design and relevant rules, regulations and best practices

  • Positive & Open minded
  • Good mixture of practical and theoretical understanding is a preference
  • Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
