THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a staff Project Planner to support our Pipeline Group (PG) based in our Old Kilpatrick office in Glasgow.  The role offers both flexible and hybrid working opportunities.

The PG Project Planner shall form part of the Planning team and will report functionally to the PG Controls Manager.  They shall ensure all systems, processes and reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders are attained by adherence to Subsea 7 planning procedures and processes.

The PG Project Planner will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and follow-up of planning activities within the PG Project portfolio, including schedule analysis using Microsoft Project and Power BI software.  Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project is a mandatory requirement.

Subsea 7 recognise that talent is found in all industries and as such applicants do not require prior experience within the energy sector.  Applications should clearly demonstrate practical experience in the activities and software related to this role.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Development and maintenance of a Baseline schedule in MS Project for PG Projects, as required, including agreed S-curves, progress and reporting formats.
  • Implementation of sub-contractor schedules and establishment of reporting routines and progress follow up.
  • Responsible for the timely updates of schedules and issue of reports to relevant disciplines, management and Client, were applicable.
  • The performance of baseline updates / revisions, and where applicable the application of scheduling and planning techniques to analyse results.
  • Analyse planning data and modify as required to achieve imposed targets.
  • Liaise with Package Managers and project teams to report any consequences / changes related to planned progress or clash identification.
  • Assist in the continued development of an MS Project based PG Integrated Schedule.
  • Development and maintenance of data summary dashboards using Power BI, to include such information as progress, critical path status, deviation affect, etc.
  • Operate within the Business Code of Conduct.
  • Operate according to Subsea 7’s Management Principles.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives and development of PG Planning and Controls.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project is a mandatory requirement.
  • Applicable Planning work experience.
  • Planning experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, although not essential.
  • Construction Planning experience would be preferable.
  • Knowledge and experience of Power BI is preferable.
