ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Technology Engineer to join the business based either in Aberdeen, UK or Zoetermeer, Netherlands. The focus of the position is to work within the strategic technology programme for offshore wind on the development of novel cost effective fixed offshore wind turbine foundations and related technologies.
The ideal candidate should have demonstrable experience of technology development and knowledge of the offshore renewables industry. Experience of managing technology development programmes and in delivering concept studies is preferable.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Role Specific - Responsibilities & Activities
- Deliver packages of engineering work for the technology programme in fixed offshore wind
- An ability to coordinate engineering design & technology development teams as an integral part of a multidiscipline project
- Understands clients' needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
- Perform engineering from concept design to detailed design.
- Liaise with those necessary to comply with the task.
- Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include preparation and checking of design reports, engineering support to Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third party submissions.
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with design consultants, and relevant research bodies.

- Clients for input to the technology programme, tenders and studies.
- Engineering design houses, academic and research bodies.

- Technology teams, EPCI teams as well as business development and tendering.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor and or Master’s Degree (Civil, Structural, Geotechnical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Related experience at an appropriate level, including a period as Senior Engineer.
- Candidates should show a commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
