 Your mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

Within the Fabrication department, you will be involved in the preparation of various fabrication scope of work for our tendering activity. Then you will be in involved in the fabrication packages in case of project award.

Key Responsibilities:

The Fabrication Engineer has the responsibility for the successful execution (in term of safety, quality, schedule and budget) of a part of the fabrication package pertaining to a project. It starts with the tendering process and then it follows with the fabrication supervision.

He is supporting the logistic and the whole work program (Qualifications, Material Reception, Fabrication, Factory Acceptance Testing, System Integration Test (SIT), Load-out, final documentation …) associated with the fabrication Scope of Work at Yard

During tendering phase:

  • Review client specifications
  • Develop Fabrication scope of works
  • Liaise with Engineering to ensure that all technical aspects are well captured (welding, NDT, Coating, factory Acceptance test etc..)
  • Liaise with Operations and logistic to ensure their requirements are well taken into account.
  • Review, assess and clarify subcontractor’s offers

During realization phase:

  • Develop a close relationship with the Fabricator to establish a cooperative work spirit and to ensure safe, continuous and coordinated services and compliance with the Contract for all activities happening on the Yard
  • Ensure that all project aspects will be properly managed as per project procedures and specifications (Health Safety Environment (HSE), Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC), Planning, and Cost)
  • Drive engineering and drawings clarifications with yard.
  • Ensure that all fabrication activities undertaken on Yard for the Project, comply with relevant legislative directives and are in accordance with the Client’s specifications and Subsea 7’s instructions. (Cutting, fitting, welding, NDT, coating, FAT, SIT, lifting, load-out)
  • Interface with other project disciplines (engineering, offshore installation, operations etc..) in the office to ensure cooperation and alignment
  • Manage contractual administration, procedures, consumables, certificates, site instructions, variation orders etc., that may be changes to the work
  • Implement any corrective action as defined by any documented audit and/or inspection carried out by Subsea 7 or Client Safety and Quality Departments pertaining to personnel, the work-site and supporting equipment
  • Ensure consistency between the contractual planning and the measured progress and investigate potential bottlenecks.
  • Anticipate future main activities and drive the different parties to ensure readiness for said activities
  • Ensure that personnel under his or her direction is qualified and suitable to do the work
  • Lead HSE by example

Profiles

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, at least 3 years relevant experience preferably in Oil & Gas industry with site experience.
  • Knowledge in welding, fabrication, pressure tests, painting, inspections, design or installation of structures, drafting. Basic knowledge in material specifically steels, including CRA (Corrosion Resistant Alloys like Super Duplex). Knowledge of Subsea Structure design is a plus.
  •  Understanding of the main fabrication codes which are the AWS D1.1 standard and ASME IX and DNVGL-ST-F101 for piping
  • Capability to manage individuals within the project and interface with personnel both internal and external to the project to deliver project commitments
  • Ability to plan and organize work
  • Ability to work both at office and on Yard with workers team
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
