Engineering Graduate (AMEC Region)

BUSINESS UNIT: Engineering Department

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

OFFICE LOCATION: KSA

TYPE OF CONTRACT: 1 year contract - renewable

We provide project management, engineering and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

Generic Roles & Responsibilities:

  •  Under direct supervision, assist with production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to DO, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and 3rd-party submissions.
  • Consolidate knowledge in areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice.
  • Be aware of clients’ needs; address design parameters and problems; develop and implement solutions.
  • Assist in the production of technical documentation.
  • Make effort to become aware of all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements.
  • Participate in meetings / correspondence with Clients, subcontractors, 3rd parties, etc. in a junior capacity.
  • Recognise the objectives for professional development
  • Recognise and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in DOC-GL-HSE-001

Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to function within a design team and across multiple projects.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Be aware of interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
  • Manage change control within own remit on a project.  Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Can work within time/budget constraints

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work toward the CEng requirements of the relevant professional institution
  • Participate in offshore assignments as required by project placement.
  • Accept increasing responsibility as more experience is gained
  • Actively seek and execute challenging work tasks
  • Keep up-to-date with quarterly and annual reports
  • Arrange regular meetings with mentor
  • Attend graduate meetings whenever possible
  • Attend external presentations (eg SUT, PIG, and Institution events)
  • Originate documents such as analysis reports, procedures, Drawings, QP913 Change Control Forms, Dive plans etc.
  • Raise Material Requisitions and Equipment Definition Forms.
  • Act as company representative at such events as load tests, trial fit-ups etc.
  • Carry out other duties of a Professional Engineer under the supervision and/or approval of a more senior Engineer.
  • Prepare and present, Task Risk Assessments, HAZOPs etc. when assigned
  • Prepare procedures and other documents to satisfy company and industry Health and Safety Standards.
