Senior Subsea Piping Engineer

We have requirement for a Subsea Piping Engineers to be based at our Global Project Centre London office.

Key Attributes required for this position:

  • Subsea Structures Piping Engineering – Manifold, FLET, PLEM, ILT and PLR.
  • Extensive experience in the pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II Software and valve specification for subsea piping manifold systems and tie-in pipework.
  • Subsea Design Codes – ASME B31.8, PD-8010, DNV-OS-F101, ASME B16.9 etc.
  • Proficient in CAESAR II – Software.
  • Experience in FLIP, FIV, VIV.
  • Experience and knowledge of Subsea Hardware notably – Connection. Systems and Valves (API 6A/API 17D).
  • Experience of WT and Area Replacement calculations.
  • FEA knowledge (Assessment of Special Components).
  • Knowledge of Typical Subsea Piping Materials – Carbon Steels, Alloys, Nickel-Alloys (Solid 625, Super Duplex).
  • Package Engineering.
  • MTO originator and owner.
  • Ability to read PID’s.
  • TQ’s/DVR/MOC originators.
  • Produce CTR estimates for relevant scopes of works.
  • A positive attitude to developing engineering across diverse engineering projects within the Subsea 7 global Organisation.

 Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, detail and review technical documentation relating to subsea piping, mechanical systems construction and installation.
  • Detailed design in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards, client specifications and scopes of work.
  • Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, equipment specifications.
  • Provide input to, check and approve subsea structures piping tie-in general arrangement and isometric drawings
  • Production of pipework and fitting specifications
  • Production of specifications and data sheet for subsea valves in accordance with API 6A or ISO 14723
  • Package engineering and management of large valve and pipe fitting packages
  • Provide mechanical and integrity calculations for piping and equipment including pipework stress analysis utilizing CAESAR II.
  • Coordinate piping and mechanical engineering support for the execution of multidiscipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule
  • Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project.
  • Provide piping engineering assistance during occasional periods of offshore or site working.
  • Provide piping engineering support to Tenders, FEED Studies and EPIC Projects.
  • Train/mentor junior engineers.
  • Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Degree educated in relevant discipline, but consideration will be given to those with extensive proven experience within a similar role.
  • Can use learning and training experiences in working situations.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in similar role.
  • Proven Track record of delivering similar scopes.
  • Ability to lead and function within a design team and across multiple projects.
  • Can articulate training in working situations.
  • Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints.
  • Can work to deadlines set by management.
