Seaway 7 have an opportunities for a Contract Manager(s) to join our team on a permanent basis in our, Oslo, Aberdeen,  Zoetermeer or Leer office.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

As a Contract Manager supporting the project execution activities you will become a member of a highly dedicated and skilled project management organisation with opportunities for exposure to clients and projects around the world. As a Contract Manager your key responsibilities would be to provide contractual and associated project management support to the project execution phase, with key interfaces with legal, and project management, as well as:

  • Advise project manager / project director / senior management on contractual issues and strategy;
  • Liaise with legal councils / external law firm if and as required;
  • Lead the resolution of contractual financial disputes and (independently) negotiate claims, variations and/or settlement agreements;
  • Operate within standardised Contracts policies, processes and systems and ensure compliance with these processes;
  • Act as a key integral member of the Project Management Team and participate in commercial strategic discussion and decisions;
  • Administration of bank bonds, parent company guarantees and insurance certificates;
  • Provides guidance on contract / commercial requirements to the wider project team;
  • Keeps the wider project team aware of contractual obligations and objectives;
  • Active participation in the tender to project phase;
  • Administration and management of main client contract;
  • Interface with SCM for main subcontracts and applicable flow downs;
  • Management of the change process;
  • Management of claims and variation orders;
  • Accurate financial and progress reporting, including providing input to cost controllers;
  • Providing regular and accurate summaries and reports on the status of contractual matters on the project;
  • Participate in internal project meetings where required;
  • Execution of contract close-out activities;
  • Participate in lessors learned sessions and supplier performance assessments;
  • Other tasks as required to support the project within a contractual context;

  • Senior Management.

In addition to the key internal stakeholders identified above, the Contracts Manager will require to interface with colleagues embedded in project teams within the various Seaway 7 Regions and locations.

External:

  • 3rd Party suppliers;
  • Clients.

Person Specification

  • Holds a relevant degree or equivalent with a strong preference for previous experience in a similar role within large and complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of developing and maintaining strong business relationships at all levels in the organisation.
  • Commercially aware with excellent analytical skills and an ability to work with detail and accuracy.
  • Strong planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload and successfully meet multiple, often competing deadlines.
  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities within a high risk and fast-paced 24/7 global business.
  • Pro-active with a solutions-based approach, willing to challenge the status quo.
  • A collaborative worker, who demonstrates initiative and ownership of deliverables.
  • A hands-on practical approach and willingness to supporting team activities.
  • Strong excel and other business application abilities.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and identification of efficient work methods and processes.
  • Willingness to learn and understand the technical aspects associated with the role.
