Development Engineer

We are looking for someone with a passion for bringing concepts to life, and experience with development projects all the way from concept to execution phase, and skills within technical project management, structural/ mechanical engineering and preferably knowledge within naval architecture, geotechnical and/or marine engineering.

Your main tasks will cover technical project management including internal and external stakeholder management, concept development and follow-up, and carrying out “light” engineering work.

Below are some of (but not limited to) the tasks you will be expected to perform:

  • Prepare concept presentations and project management plans
  • Liaise with internal and external engineering and marine operation specialists
  • Prepare scope of works and coordinate engineering consultants (contracted to provide e.g. equipment development, calculation reports and steel construction drawings)
  • Review and/or facilitate review by internal specialists of documentation provided by engineering consultants
  • Prepare, facilitate and follow up on design and operational risk workshops
  • Prepare or provide input to time schedules and budgets
  • Ensure high quality and efficiency in own and sub-contracted work
  • Participate in meetings with external stakeholders and clients
  • Prepare and review simple 2D drawings such as e.g. vessel layouts
  • Prepare and/or manage engineering feasibility studies (could be simple drawings, or using external engineering consultants)
  • Prepare method statements, operational procedures, and risk assessments (based on technical knowledge and/or input from specialists)

 

Skills AND KNOWLEDGE

Below are the desirable, but not required, skills and knowledge in our ideal candidates

  • Experience in small or larger scale development projects from concept to execution
  • Experience in technical project management
  • Ability to process technical and engineering information and reports
  • Experience with wind turbine transport and installation
  • Preferably knowledge on cranes and lifting operations
  • Basic skills in Autodesk AutoCad (and Inventor) or interest to learn
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Teams
  • Fluent in English and preferably communicative in Danish

 

EDUCATION

A higher technical education in structural, geotechnical or mechanical engineering, marine technology, naval architecture or similar at BSc or MSc level.
