DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION

The Cost Controller will work closely with the Senior Cost Controller and Project Team to provide all Project cost control activities on a project. This shall include setting up the project cost control tools, processes and reporting routines to ensure effective analysis & monitoring. The Cost Controller shall report to the Cost Control Manager/Supervisor and Project Manager and will provide all information necessary for them to determine the financial success of the Project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all Cost Control Functions on Project in accordance with Group Procedures & Guidelines.

  • Establishment of Project Cost Control Execution & Reporting Plan, including development of any Project specific procedures where necessary, during the Project start up phase.

  • Set up of Project Chart of Accounts and involvement in establishment of Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and CTR Catalogue.

  • Ensure analysis and understanding of the project contract and scope

  • Input of Project Budget into Cost Management System (CMS) based on Tender “As Sold” Financial Costing data.

  • Development of Forecasting methodology and establishment of monthly routines and interfaces with other project team members and external information providers.

  • Monitor & control actual cost expenditures including reconciliation to the accounting system.

  • Commitment & Open P/O monitoring and inclusion in forecasts as appropriate.

  • Involvement in Change Management Process and Variation Order Costing, Pricing and Submission.

  • Participate in Risk Management Process and manage the Project Contingency and Sensitivity Analysis Reporting.

  • Preparation of the Project Cost Report (EAC) as well as ensuring that all information provided on monthly basis for Regional/Corporate Management Reporting purposes

  • Preparation & Submission of Monthly multiple currency Cashflow Forecasts for project

  • Preparation & Submission of the Monthly Project Status Report (PMSR)

CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS

  • Degree or Diploma in Finance & Accounting or Business-Related Disciplines desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience as Cost Controller in Oil & Gas or Related Industry.

  • Excellent IT Skills, Good Numeracy and Analytical Skills

  • Good spoken & written English is essential

  • SAP Experience desirable

  • Working in a team orientated environment essential
