The overview of the role of Technical Engineer (Naval / Mechanical) is to support the Vessel Superintendents on issues requiring specialist knowledge.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Vessel Superintendents on issues specialist knowledge
- Participate in defining and describing company operational standards.
- Participate in design, engineering, construction and commissioning of new components or equipment
- Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable rules and standards.
- Advice on technical modifications to project and vessel crew
- Manage technical modifications
- Attend equipment tests at manufacturer premises
- Budget aware
- Support Vessel Superintendents during maintenance & repair or dry dockings on site
- Willing to travel and work outside normal office hours
Interface with:
- Vessel superintendents
- Department engineers
- Project teams and vessel crews
Education, skills and experience:
- Bachelor education in a technical subject. Preferably Naval Architecture / Offshore Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
- Good level of English
- A few years of solid practical engineering experience required
