Your mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

Within the Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for the success of the Supply Chain activities for one project of this size including the procurement and the delivery of high value and complex ‘engineered’ products (Flexibles, Umbilicals, Subsea Connectors, Pipes...) and the subcontracting to 3rd parties of high value services (Fabrication, Chartering of vessels…) for a global amount of typically 500 million USD. The main responsibility is to deliver the supply chain scope in accordance with agreed schedules, milestones and cost, with focus on meeting the Project’s overall schedule and profitability.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and implement the procurement strategy at the start of the project
  • Set-up the project supply chain organisation (resources vs supply chain scope) and manage the supply chain team assigned to the project (typically 20 people from Buyer to Lead supply chain engineer profile)
  • Set-up project supply chain tools and processes and prepare the project procurement procedure
  • Ensure the project supply chain team takes the full ownership of each project purchase order or subcontract from receipt of requisition to final delivery as per Subsea7 model in which supply chain function is accountable for the award and the delivery of all purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Develop and lead the updating of the project procurement plan in collaboration with other disciplines
  • Shall support commercial and contractual negotiations when required
  • Review and approval of project purchase orders and subcontracts before their signature
  • Review and ensure the good progress and execution of all purchase orders and subcontracts up to the delivery of materials/services (cost / schedule / technical and quality compliance…)
  • Ensure proper close-out of all purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Global reporting to project management and Client

Your profile

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering or Business), minimum 15 years of experience
  • Appropriate experience in a one or more of the supply chain areas of expertise
  • Experience in project/package management
  • Strong leadership and ability to coach and guide more junior colleagues
  • High skills in contractual and commercial negotiation
  • Technical awareness and ability to understand technical discussions
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging requests/subjects
  • Delivery oriented (risk approach, convergence plan…)
  • “Cost saving” oriented
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
