Description of Role

We are digitalising Subsea 7. This means we are constantly looking for ways to improve how we deliver our projects, to benefit both our clients and our internal teams. Defining and offering a Digital Twin solution is a key element to our digital project delivery strategy.

The Digitalisation team is looking for a data analyst to help shape the design, build and delivery of a digital Project Twin. This position therefore requires interaction and input into the overall Digital Twin strategy, including briefings to senior management, support functions, development teams and the business stakeholders.

This is a role within Digitalisation with reporting lines to the Digital Twin Project Manager.  The role may be based in our Aberdeen or Sutton office. 

The main responsibilities of the data analyst are to:

  • organise and transform data into comprehensible structures
  • Use available data to extract information and identify correlations and patterns 
  • Develop parsing scripts to transform data between different data models
  • Generate dashboards to visualise data
  • Collaborate with IT to develop data access platforms
  • Engage with the Data Governance teams to ensure we adhere to the Subsea 7 data governance guidelines
  • Communicate with stakeholders to explain data content and relate to business requirements

Capability profile

Essential

  • Self-motivated person with knowledge of data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to engage the rest of the business with the project and convey technical & abstract topics to non-technical audiences

Desirable

  • Experience of enterprise applications and company data systems
  • A knowledge of commonly used coding languages e.g. Python
  • An awareness of systems architecture relating to data

Working Conditions

  • Majority of the work will be carried out in the local office site
  • There may be a requirement to undertake ad-hoc travel to visit other Subsea 7 offices.
