POSITION OVERVIEW

Our SCM Subcontract Specialist will demonstrate practical experience with complex EPCI projects and the associated knowledge to support contractual/legal and tendering activities.  Responsible for developing and implementing plans for assigned projects, the role will procure critical or complex permanent goods or services along with contributing to or owning tendering activities.

Reporting to the SCM Manager, the role sits with other Subcontract Specialists, a Senior and a Team Lead and will contribute to a highly efficient, best value driven Supply Chain function delivering in all parts of the globe.

Part our UK & Global IRM business unit, the role will also support other areas as required, including offshore floating wind and SURF.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate relevant experience of complex EPCI projects and the ability to successfully negotiate contracts.  As an ambassador of Subsea 7 you will at all times bring credibility, integrity and professionalism to the role, ensuring compliance to all processes and applicable laws.

You will be a confident negotiator accustomed to working autonomously as required to manage multiple project activities, delivering on time and in budget.  Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you build strong collaborative relationships at all levels across the global business and confidently interface with senior level supplier representatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with all Supply Chain policies, process, systems and procedures
  • Proactively contribute to the company's definition of SCM strategies and goals and the achievement of these
  • Work in close collaboration with other functions of the project
  • Contribute to the establishment of the Bidders List in accordance with the Approved Vendors Lists
  • Contribute to the selection, management and performance monitoring of Vendors
  • Prepare Request for Quotations / Invitation to Tenders for goods and services in line with, allocated budgets, quality and delivery targets
  • Make recommendation to award in accordance project requirements and company financial authority matrix
  • Prepare and coordinate the placement of subcontracts/purchase orders that ensures compliance with procurement strategies and project procurement plan.
  • Implement and run the project procurement plan meetings on a weekly basis
  • Organize KOM (Kick off Meetings) and attend PPM (Pre-production Meetings) with Vendors
  • Follow up the weekly progress of complex/critical packages awarded to suppliers
  • Ensure the follow-up of actions from the weekly progress meeting with relevant functions within the Project
  • Expedite orders and ensure all documentation are received on time
  • Expedite invoices and close out of projects in timely manner
  • Negotiate any disputes that may arise in the supply chain
  • Responsible for managing procurement budget and provide monthly cost reports
  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required
  • Participate in the evaluation of the vendors and provide lessons learned to the project management team
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Negotiate Frame Agreement contracts to provide best value for the business
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Proactively participate in or lead Global Category networking groups where relevant
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
  • Ensure SCM capitalises on lessons learned and ensures work is performed in accordance with best practice, strives to mitigate risk, promotes safety and integrity
  • Assist with any other duties that may be required for successful business delivery

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Significant role relevant experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas/Renewables Industry and in Supply Chain Management.
  • Pre and post award experience in EPCI environment and/or experience in supporting EPCI Tenders within SCM.
  • IT proficient across the MS Suite. SAP/SAP Ariba is desirable.
  • CIPs (or other relevant industry qualification) desirable.
