Subsea 7 are searching for State Registered Nurses (EU/EEA) to become part of the crew onboard our Diving Support Vessels operating in the North Sea where you will work a 4 week on 4 week off rotation supporting the Ship’s Captain and Offshore Diving Manager in managing the health and wellbeing of our crew.
Candidates must have State Registered Nurse certification from an EU / EEA member state and have at least three years’ post qualification experience, preferably with some exposure to ED / Trauma medicine. Full training to comply with offshore legislation and key requirements will be provided
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Medic operates onboard the vessel assisting the Captain / Offshore Manager and other onboard in matters regarding health and environment.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.
The Medic holds an independent position onboard. In the event of a conflict between medical work and administration work, the medical work has first priority.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Lead a positive HSEQ culture and behaviour across Subsea 7 and particularly within their sphere of influence
- Champion the Subsea 7 Critical Behaviours Programme, setting the tone and leading by example
- Ensure a professional effective and efficient response to routine health requirements of Subsea 7 worksites
- Provides first aid, medical management of ailments and injuries including medical emergency situations and the administration of medicines
- Has direct access to the Duty Doctor System for consultation, guidance and supervision as necessary
- Training of emergency teams and first aiders to ensure an efficient response.
- Medical team leader during emergencies and incidents
- Lead in promoting health and wellbeing onboard
- Reports administratively to the Vessel Master/Captain/OM and/or the Diving Superintendent to advise them of relevant medical matters
- Reports professionally to the Duty Doctors and to the Corporate/Regional Medical Advisors
- Responsible for reporting the activities of the medical service onboard the vessel
- Performs administrative duties such as vessel inductions for all new personnel and repeat inductions as directed in PR-GL-VM-VSL-103 Registration, Verification and Familiarisation
- Administrative duties will differ from vessel to vessel
- TM Master Medic module to be used for stock management and purchasing
- Regular stock checks to be performed to ensure medic module is accurate at all times (in the event of audit or port state control visit)
- Act as Hazardous Material Sypol Coordinator
Key Requirements
- Specific training in relevant professional fields such as Trauma Medicine, Occupational Hygiene, Occupational Health, Diving Medicine, Food Hygiene, Counselling etc
- Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level
- Valid Medical Certificate
- Valid Offshore Survival
- HSE Offshore Medic Course
- Clear and effective oral and written communications skills in English language.
- Strong co-ordination, organisation, and liaison skills
