OVERVIEW OF ROLE

A key aspect of a typical Offshore Wind project is the intermediate storage of numerous very large Wind Turbine Foundations (Monopiles, Transition Pieces, Jackets) delivered from the fabrication yard to the marshalling yard located close to the offshore work location.

The Operations and Marshalling Engineer (OME) will be the point of contact for all marshalling related matters in the US within Seaway 7, providing input to tenders, engaging with supply Chain, gathering experience and lessons learned and putting together execution plans for awarded projects.

The OME is based in the Seaway 7 Houston office with frequent missions on site to support ongoing projects and visit potential new suppliers for marshalling scope. Additionally, the OME will have the opportunity to be based on site and act as marshalling site manager on live projects.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

The Operations and Marshalling Engineer is responsible for:

  • Promoting a Safety-first culture within the Seaway 7 Team and Subcontractors.
  • Preparing scopes for subcontracts and review and evaluate subcontracts.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing on specific tenders, identifying specific yard and project requirements, estimated third party costs, schedules and internal CTR's for support requirements.
  • Providing the best marshalling execution plan to the tender team, taking into account location, schedule, cost and yard space and quayside availability.
  • Creating a network of potential marshalling yard suppliers in the US and abroad, including established ports but also greenfield areas in new Countries in the offshore wind industry such as the Poland, Korea, Ireland etc.
  • Assisting and providing input to the project engineering team for load in/load out and sea fastening operations.
  • Recruiting and managing the marshalling site teams during live projects.
  • Gathering Lessons Learned to be implemented in future tenders and projects.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in offshore construction,
  • Experience in large EPCI and SURF, in particular Logistic Supports, Mobilization, Field Engineering,
  • Skilled in co-ordination of support Services, and subcontractors management,
  • Fluent in English.
