We are looking for one Specialist for the “Business Improvements” discipline within our Subsea 7 Global Project Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC&AP) business unit. This position will be based in our Suresnes office (France) as a local role.

Working with the Engineering Manager – Business Improvements and his Deputy, the role will have responsibility for supporting and delivering engineering-related Business Improvement activities through the GPC&AP Engineering function.

The role will work with a diverse and multi-national team across the GPC&AP offices - London, Paris, Kuala Lumpur and Perth. The successful applicants can expect to be involved with multiple, diverse technical challenges, support our global projects and collaborate with all Subsea 7 offices. As such experience of SURF projects and project delivery is essential.

The Business Improvements team will work closely with all disciplines within the Engineering function and the HSEQ function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop best quality practices to ensure delivery of fit-for-purpose engineering and prioritise consistent ways-of-working across the function
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement process across the function focusing on Safety In Design & LEAN Engineering and work with the CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) Team to implement digital improvements that have a material & positive impact on our way of working
  • Assess, identify and eliminate wasteful practices within our processes (LEAN)
  • Interface with discipline leads and project leads to ensure compliance across all activities
  • Assist Discipline Managers and PEM’s (Project Engineering Managers) in developing project engineering schedules to include all Quality related project activities, including auditing
  • Manage internal and external Business Improvements engineering interfaces
  • Ensure adequate Business Improvements engineering input to project activities
  • Assist projects with external verification activities from clients and 3rd parties
  • Ensure that standards of Business Improvements engineering services provided comply with corporate standards and client specifications along with appropriate legislation
  • Maintain Functional Managers awareness of all matters related to Business Improvements
  • Organize/support PEC (Project Expertise Committee) assessments as required during the progress of the Projects’ work
  • Support project incidents technical investigation and promote corrective actions
  • Ensure lessons learned from previous projects are captured and actioned/mitigated
