OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Subsea 7 have an exciting opportunity for an NDT Inspector to join our team within our Pipeline Group based in Old Kilpatrick, Glasgow. The NDT Inspector will be responsible for carrying out inspections in the Global Weld Development Centre and coordination inspection activities as required.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Implement and coordinate NDT inspections:

  • Carry out inspections on the shop floor as required
  • Produce and interpret scans
  • Prepare reports using Company reporting system
  • Coordinate day to day requirements for inspection for WPQT, AUTV, R&D of seeded defects, welder test with GWDC staff and subcontractors as required
  • Interface with NDT subcontractor as required to ensure that all examinations are completed in a timely manner
  • Review and approve reports by NDT subcontractors
  • Supervise NDT inspections carried out by Level 1 and 2 NDT Inspectors as required [dependant on position

Assist in the AUT Validation process for project work:

  • Supervise all aspects of production of AUTV welds and co-ordinate validation activities in the GWDC [dependant on position]

Assist with vetting and authorising procedures:

  • Review and validate subcontractor procedures for approval by Company Level 3 as required

Support NDT developments and assist with practical aspects of procedure development for new techniques.

Support the upkeep, maintenance and compliance of NDT equipment and RT enclosures.
