Your mission

The Principal Engineer Product - Wet Insulation Flowlines is responsible for defining and delivering improvement measures aimed at reducing / eliminating “wet insulation related” cost of loss on pipeline projects from early engagement to execution. The scope of this improvement initiative is not limited to technical matters and covers market requirements, supply chain aspects and fabrication / installation constraints.

The position reports to the EHTF/Flowlines Product Engineering Manager. The role is transverse and requires active collaboration with the other members of the product team and a wide range of internal/external stakeholders.

The candidate will be assigned to the EHTF / Flowline product team to initially focus on this internal improvement project. The role will then be extended to other passive flowline solutions  depending on business needs and candidate’s career development wishes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Wet Insulation Flowlines

  • Responsible for establishing a wet insulated flowline improvement road map under the supervision of the EHTF/Flowline Product Director & Engineering Manager and in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders with the aim to reduce / eliminate recurrent costs of loss as identified by the coating steering committee
  • Perform a 5YP analysis to identify wet insulation flowline requirements for all future prospects and projects so as to relate the improvement road map to Subsea7 commercial targets
  • Actively liaise with COE coating & Corrosion chair person and relevant technology personel to properly established current status of Subsea7 knowledge around wet insulation integrity management in reel-lay mode while anticipating potential introduction of new wet coating solutions
  • Review current wet insulation flowline delivery process from early engagement to project execution using an all-encompassing system approach including engineering, supply chain and fabrication / installation aspects as well as tendering
  • Work closely with Linepipe & Coating Category Management and Pipeline Group SCM to align technical recommendations and supply chain’s capabilities
  • Identify and recommend any organizational changes having the potential to improve risk identification, estimating, efficiency and quality in execution
  • Build associated schedule and ensure buy-in from all key stakeholders (Regions and service providers)
  • Coordinate the delivery of the improvement road map
  • Ensure all key deliverables are properly embedded in BMS and PM7 (+ all key personnel inductions performed) so as to become the new delivery standard within Subsea7 for wet insulation flowline in reel-lay

Other Passive Flowline solutions

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining product road maps in relation with Product S&M and relevant technology programs with the aim to answer market demands, improve cost competitiveness and delivery efficiency, reduce complexity and delivery time of the product portfolio
  • Contribute / support / coordinate product improvement activities depending on size & budget
  • Conduct specific product studies & analysis in support of EHTF/Flowline Product Engineering Manager and Product S&M Lead
  • Work with Product SCM engineer to identify and progress component alternative sourcing solutions (product supply chain network competitiveness and resilience)
  • Support Product S&M Lead with technical inputs to early engagement studies and participate to product selection
  • Maintain & manage product knowledge including product communication materials
  • Stay apprised of technology advancements relevant to product portfolio with a specific focus on Industry papers, technical forums and patents
  • YOUR PROFILE

    • Ability to build and implement a road map to deliver well identified objectives
    • Strong stakeholder management
    • Good coordination, communication & presentation skills
    • System engineering thinking and product life cycle approach
    • General knowledge of polymers for subsea engineering applications including practical aspects such as onshore & offshore fabrication
    • General awareness of pipeline design, reeling & installation constraints will be a plus
    • Good supply chain & commercial awareness
    • Ability to work with limited supervision in flexible environment
