This newly created role of QA Manager, leading Predictable Performance activities, is part of the strategic improvement plan for our Pipeline Group (PG) business unit, based in Glasgow. 

Working within a fast-paced multiple project environment the role will target, through Governance and Assurance, a tangible Return on Investment (ROI) and loss prevention.  This in turn translates to a sustainable impact on profitability, efficiency, and our Continual Improvement (CI) culture. 

Predictable Performance is intrinsically linked to our key deliverables of:

  • Performance – Quality Assurance to enhance the performance of our projects.
  • Customer Value - Deliver further value to our clients through quality and Continual Improvement.
  • Collaboration - Support the Group reshape, and grow smartly, to deliver the quality foundations across Subsea 7.
  • Safety - Improving PG safety performance through a more integrated approach to safety and quality.

The role has responsibility to support the HSEQ Manager to develop and implement the PG Framework and process:

  • Quality Governance
  • Compliance & Verification
  • HSE & Quality Local Management Team reviews.
  • Predictable Performance
  • HSEQ Risk Management
  • Linkage into process full life cycle approach in respect to C.I.

In addition, the role will support relevant functional and senior management teams, specifically the Quality Function, in delivering the change management process.  Associated duties are to:

  • Oversee the development and execution of PG audit plan and ensures that the audit plan is risk-based and aligned to risk profile, and objectives.
  • Support the PG HSEQ Manager in the setting and monitoring of actual performance versus the audit plan.
  • Deliver a co-ordinated approach to predictable performance and Assurance to ensure there is appropriate governance and process in place.
  • Coordinate the PG Quality/Local Management Team review, meetings.
  • Support the Subsea 7 Group approach to Predictable Performance as detailed within Group Predictable Performance Assurance Guideline (GD-GL-QMI-005).
  • Responsible for actively supporting engaging and promoting a step change in culture within PG to move towards a Performance mindset for our people.
  • Support the HSEQ Manager to drive the standardisation, compliance/Governance and efficiency of Quality Functional/business policies, processes, and systems across PG
  • Contribute to creating and champion a culture of Quality Leadership within
  • PG by acting as a catalyst for step-change in quality performance, fostering excellent working relationships with other internal Functions.
  • Investigate and report incidents relating to cost of loss and identifying the failings in the Quality system leading to this loss.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Recognised Quality or business-related qualification
  • Established Quality Management knowledge and practical experience, with a specific focus on Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Experience with change management and the application of Quality Systems in a large Project Delivery Environment, and devising improvements.
  • Experience of resource planning, data input, and report writing.
  • Industry approved lead auditor training with relevant experience of auditing, reporting and effective follow-up.
  • IT literate, experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Demonstrates initiative and ownership to deliver workload unsupervised/

Based in our Old Kilpatrick office, some travel may be required in order to undertake site visits.
