We are currently seeking Subsea Pipeline Design Engineers to join the Pipeline Design Discipline in Stavanger, Norway. The Subsea Pipeline Design Engineer’s primary function will be the day-to-day provision of subsea pipeline design support to Subsea 7 projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pipeline technology input to Conceptual and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies
  • Perform pipeline design & analysis activities in all phases of our developments ranging from tender level engineering to detailed design including, but not limited to:

-- Pipeline route and field layout

-- Pipeline mechanical design

-- Pipeline free span and on-bottom roughness analysis

-- In-place design of rigid and flexible pipelines

-- In-place design of pipe-in-pipe and bundle solutions

-- Trawling impact and pull-over analysis

-- Pipeline pull-in and installation analysis

-- Design and analysis of tie-in and expansion spools

-- Design and analysis of pipeline components

  • Participation in pipeline technology development projects
  • Coordination of multi-disciplinary tasks and projects with e.g. welding, material, structural, hydrodynamic or geotechnical disciplines
  • Follow-up design and analysis scopes as mentioned above for internal project teams, subcontractors and fabricators

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Marine, Offshore, Nava architecture)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience from execution projects including engineering of subsea pipeline systems
  • Good general knowledge within structural and/or mechanical design & hydrodynamics.
  • Knowledge and experience using any of the software Abaqus, Ansys, OrcaFlex, Matlab, Mathcad, is an advantage
  • Programming and scripting skills (Python) is an advantage
  • Overview and understanding of applicable design codes, industry standards and legislative requirements
  • Well organized and highly developed systematic working methods
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Proactive and motivated

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of client’s needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
