Seaway 7 currently have a requirement for a Sustainability Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting into the Operational Functions Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the further development of the Sustainability value within Seaway 7. 

Job Function:

The role will require a continuous development of our understanding of the implications of sustainability across Seaway 7 and the need to enhance the level of engagement within the Company, with our Customers and Suppliers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the process and progress of our sustainability priorities
  • Drive execution of strategy and achievement of leading targets and objectives
  • Establish and track against KPIs and other benchmark metrics
  • Develop and deliver our annual sustainability report and other reporting requirements
  • Establish and foster highly effective relationships and communications with all key stakeholders, e.g., employees, customers, shareholders, NGOs, suppliers, and other partners
  • Define and build a leading-edge non-financial sustainability reporting data process and system, tightly aligned with leading standards, and integrated with financials.
  • Support our participation in key sustainability deliverables like and including Dow Jones Sustainability Index, GRI and CDP submissions
  • Liaising with internal points of contact within functions to obtain appropriate information
  • Participate in sustainability projects including SFDR / NFRD / EU Taxonomy
  • Create leading branding and digital/media presence, via intranet, web, social media, and other
  • Research sustainability topics, reports, and standards to align our requirements
  • Conduct effective benchmarking of peer companies, customers, and global sustainability leaders, develop meaningful categories and dashboards
  • Contribute to and/or support the BU and functions to achieve endorsed business sustainability objectives
  • Research current thinking and development around sustainability

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications and Education

Degree qualified (preferably with management/business focus). Long and relevant work experience may also be considered.

Experience

  • A methodical person who is driven by understanding and simplifying complex subjects
  • An inquisitive person who can offer suggestions and solutions to advance plans
  • A systematic and structured approach to work
  • A strong and decisive team leader with practical approach and good communication skills.
  • Resourceful and problem-solving abilities with hands-on attitude
  • Good attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of sustainability practices and business standards coupled with a focus around the UN’s sustainability goals is a must.

Location

  • Open, however role it is expected that there will be periodic global travel.
