What you’ll do

Joining the Financial Reporting Team within the Finance Resource Centre (FRC) you will be responsible for the financial reporting for a specific region. You will generate financial reports and financial statements for key stakeholders and will deliver the financial reporting for your region. You should have experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process.  

You will be a self-starter with a logical approach to problem solving. The team supports senior management so fantastic communication, both written and verbal, is vital. Being alert to process improvements within the department and the business is another area of continued focus.

It will be exciting, busy, varied and challenging so a ‘hands-on, sleeves-up’ approach is an absolute must. You will work closely with the whole FRC team to deliver a trusted, reliable and high-quality finance function.

You will report to the FRC Financial Reporting Team Senior Accountant.


What you need

You will be a qualified accountant or nearly qualified accountant, with audit and accounts preparation experience. You will have a good working knowledge of IFRS and relevant experience working within a similar environment. You will have a proven track record of good quality accurate analysis and analytical review. Ideally you will have experience of working in or with large multinational companies and in a large team.

Being able to understand and interpret financial reports and then communicating this data both verbally and in writing is important in this role. You will thrive on delivering high quality outputs, with a right first-time attitude and have good self-review skills.

The role will require you to be proactive and confident working on your own initiative. You must have a keen eye for detail and be able to prioritise your work effectively.



Statutory Accounts

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements and quarterly management accounts
  • Liaise and supply external auditors’ information regarding year-end consolidated financial statements and statutory financial statements
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation, reporting disclosures and group accounting policies, ensuring they are applied and upheld

Financial Controls

  • Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set
  • Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities and assistance with review of Associate Accountants work
  • Assistance in testing internal controls on a monthly basis

General Responsibilities

  • Helping to establish best practice, standardisation and ways of working for all FRC legal entities
  • Pro-active participation in/lead the coaching activities to the Associate Accountants within the team
  • Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions
  • Work closely with the Subsea 7 finance community to resolve any financial reporting queries in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide training, where required, on standard ways of working to colleagues within the Subsea 7 finance community
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
