POSITION OVERVIEW

We have an exciting opportunity for a Document Controller to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team on a full time, permanent basis based in our Old Kilpatrick office, near Glasgow.

The role will maintain and control PG's Production Project documentation in accordance with Subsea 7’s Management System processes under the guidance of the Document Control Team Lead.

The Pipeline Group is a Service Provider to the Business within Offshore Resources and our mission is to tender and execute all rigid pipelines packages carried out using Subsea7 spoolbases, bundle yard and the Global Enabling Rigid Pipelay Vessels, Seven Antares, Seven Borealis, Seven Oceans and Seven Navica.

The Pipeline Group combines the capabilities of PPT, PTAG, Installation Engineering and vessel management consolidating expertise and knowledge in the areas of pipelay operations and engineering, materials, welding, coatings and lay analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and guide project personnel in the utilisation of the document control process.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Document Control System as required to meet the requirements of any specific project.
  • Provide support in the management of all Project documentation.
  • Support the presentation of the Subsea 7 Document Control process at the Kick Off Meeting of a new project.
  • Ensure that the correct numbering and revision conventions are applied to all documentation, drawings and correspondence.
  • Accurately enter and update records / meta-data within Client Document Management Systems (DMS).
  • Circulate documents for review, information, approval, etc by formal transmittal and / or Subsea 7 DMS.
  • Promote and participate in the discussion of the “Subcontractor Document Register” during project and Supplier Kick Off Meetings.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are stored in the DMS at every revision and in all relevant formats.
  • Support internal departments / functions produce documentation within MDR planned dates.
  • Assist in the supply of documentation for mobilisation (hardcopy/electronic formats).
  • Be responsible and assist with the archiving of project documents, ensuring that retained information is in date and relevant.
  • Assist projects to ensure As-Built documentation is available for review.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve Document Control systems and procedures.
  • Participate and support internal audits as directed.

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role.
  • Proven ability working to project and/or system procedures.
  • Experience using business management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
