Mooring Project Engineer Floating Wind

 

Looking for Mooring Project Engineer Floating Wind to be part of Mooring Business Unit. Candidate will be responsible for the installation of various types of anchor piles and mooring systems use in  by defining required engineering analyses, generating relevant procedures and supporting mobilization and offshore execution of mooring projects. Candidate would interface with Project Team, various support disciplines, Client, vendors, vessel owners, offshore crew, analysis team, relevant professional bodies and institutions of learning.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Produce all documents and preliminary studies related to tenders and projects,
  • Perform the engineering activities related to the preparation and offshore installation of anchor piles and mooring systems, including tow and hook-up of Host facility.
  • Be responsible for all phases of offshore installation
  • Experienced in providing input to installation analysis for mooring systems.
  • Experienced in providing input to analyses for Tow and Station Keeping of Host Facility.
  • Specify vessels and equipment necessary to safely carry out the Project.
  • Plan, prepare and confirm specific procedures (i.e., validation test on site, transportation and installation) and associated calculation notes (i.e., rigging design) defining priorities.
  • Ownership of the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA) process throughout the Project lifecycle.
  • Bring technical expertise during the procurement process, and confirm the project's progress at interim meetings with Project Lead,
  • Participate in mobilization as well as installation phases on vessel
  • Promote and facilitate project team awareness of company QA and HSE procedures.
  • Ensure that activities are conducted in compliance with the Project standards in terms of Quality, Cost & Time
  • Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction
  • Support the development of relevant tools and organize technology sessions for team to present such tools.

 

 

CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS

 

  • Engineering Degree with at least 5-8 years minimum relevant work experience in offshore energy.
  • Ability to generate relevant procedures, sketches and define analysis support required to execute scope of work.
  • Good knowledge of various anchor pile installation methodology with relevant Offshore Operations experience.
  • Good knowledge of mooring installation methodology with relevant Offshore Operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry softwares – Orcaflex, MOSES, MathCad, DNV SESAM Software Suite for Offshore and Maritime Engineering etc
  • Working experience executing mooring projects from an anchor handling vessel/tug.
  • Good knowledge at coordinating project equipment in material yard.
  • Working understanding of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Self-motivated. Ability to work with minimum supervision in required area of expertise and capacity to coordinate with others and communicate.
  • Good communication skills required. Must be fluent in both writing and speaking of English language. A second international language would be a plus.

  • Ability to guide and mentor graduates and junior engineers

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Majority of the work would be carried out of Subsea 7’s Houston office.
  • Requirement for some local and international travel (up to 25%).
  • Offshore/Off-site location (within and outside the US) during project execution phases as required (up to 25%).
