The Role
Subsea 7 has been a leader in the delivery of offshore projects and services in the energy industry for over 45 years in Australia and is one of the world’s largest offshore EPC contractors – including offshore wind and renewables. With the rapidly evolving market in Australia, we are now seeking a dynamic, agile individual to lead our transition into the new energy and renewables market in the newly created position of Energy Transition & Renewables Strategic Director – Australia. This exciting opportunity will allow the right person, reporting to the VP Australia & New Zealand, to develop this role and establish the energy transition & renewables business line for Subsea 7 locally.
You will be responsible for developing the Australian energy transition and renewables business strategy and acquiring new business for Subsea 7 – with a focus on floating wind, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS). You will be responsible for proactively developing strategic local partnerships and relationships with the key industry stakeholders – including clients, partners, government, and industry – and using your knowledge to identify opportunities for strategic collaboration that will facilitate the commercialisation of projects. This role also has responsibility for the development of the Energy Transition & Renewables business line and you will be responsible for marketing and building our position in this market.
About You
This role suits a dynamic and motivated individual, you will have the drive, ambition and passion to lead the new energy transition for Subsea 7 in Australia. You will already possess or be able to demonstrate your ability to develop an understanding of the new markets of the energy transition. You will have strong commercial acumen along with the proven ability to identify opportunities, develop strategic local partnerships and relationships and lead a team of highly motivated individuals to win work. You will be collaborative, able to think innovatively in this new space and be committed to the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity acting as an ambassador for Subsea7.
You will be degree qualified (ideally in Business Management, Marketing) or similar with a minimum 15 years’ experience and have relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in a similar environment with strong commercial acumen. Possessing a technical background and knowledge of the Subsea or Energy Industry, Offshore Wind and/or Hydrogen sectors will be highly regarded.
