Your Mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

Within GPC & AP Engineering Function, Design & Analysis Group, "Risers, Installation Analyses and Umbilical" (RIAU) department is currently looking for an engineer specialised in Hydrodynamics and CFD to support various studies for both Renewable Projects and Oil and Gas SURF projects, as well as various Internal Engineering Development:

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform various Hydrodynamic Analyses for:
    • Subsea 7 Vessels, Cargo Barges including generation of displacement RAO and exporting to another software version (e.g. into OrcaFlex), as well as generation of Load RAO and Sea State RAO.
    • Offshore Wind Floater, Floating Energy Buoy
    • CFD using Star-CCM+ to optimise the Hydrodynamics properties for in-place and installation conditions for Subsea 7 Vessel, Offshore Wind Structures, Floating Energy Buoy, Subsea Structures.
    • Technology development and research projects
  • Support various Projects and Tenders for:
    • Towing Analysis of Subsea / Offshore Structures
    • Lifting / Installation Analysis of Subsea / Offshore Structures
    • Stability Analysis of Transportation Vessels (Cargo Barge, Heavy Lift Vessel)
    • Motion screening of the floaters (FPSO, Installation Vessel etc.)
    • Supervise and Review the Basin Model tests procedure and analyse the Test Data.
    • Perform design analysis and review of permanent mooring (e.g. Floating Wind, FPSO, Floating Energy Converter etc.) and as well as temporary mooring systems.
    • Advise for use of Metocean data for various Projects and Tenders.
    • Advise for selection of Hydrodynamics Coefficient and VIV subjects for dynamic risers.
  • Support various Internal Engineering Improvements initiatives for Hydrodynamics, CFD and moorings such as:
    • Develop tools, guidelines, and templates.
    • Develop Training Material and Supervise Trainees and Junior members of the team

Your Profile

  • MSc or PhD in Mechanical/Civil engineering/Naval Architecture/Hydrodynamics
  • You have relevant work experience in the Oil and Gas industry or equivalent.
  • You are proficient in HydroStar, Star-CCM+ and OrcaFlex.
  • Knowledge of relevant API (e.g. API-RP-2SK) and DNV (e.g. DNVGL-ST-N001) code.
  • Coding in Python and VBA is desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Majority of the work is carried out in the offices – Suresnes
  • Requirement for some international travel
