DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION 

  • Responsible for the safe and proper performance of yard electrical installation and automation equipment system
  • Performs maintenance activities, repair of all electrical installations (low and hight voltage) and yard automation equipment
  • Coordinates, mechanical team and other operating personnel. Ensure all activities done are in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Reports to Maintenance Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements projects and programs improvements on plant and production lines automation systems, electrical installation low voltage and hight voltage system
  • Analyses needs and production requirements; watches gauges, dials, inverter, plc, or other indicators to make sure a machine or system is working properly.
  • Provides production support, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on equipment use to maintain smooth and continuous operation; work of shifts and/or overtime as needed to support production.
  • Complies with company and safety policies, rules and regulations and ensure that personnel under his authority are suitably trained for the work that they are carrying out, that are working safely and participate actively in toolbox meetings.
  • Trains subordinates, in order to improve their abilities and skills and allocates required manpower for all related automation work systems.
  • Provides user applications and/or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements; writes computer or microprocessor software programs.
  • Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics and/or mechanics units, applying knowledge of automation theory and components.
  • Tests electronics units and analyse results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment; writes reports or records data on testing techniques, or specifications to assist engineers.
  • Conducts troubleshooting jobs, repairs equipment within tight deadlines under high pressure situations, and performs preventive maintenance activities of automation systems.
  • Identifies and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
  • Makes specification of necessary spare parts for the maintenance of plant automation and inventorying all automation spare parts.
  • Coordinates with mechanical and yard operations teams, asking from them, if needed complementary resources to undertake the job; keeps superior constantly informed of the developments and plans of all operations activities.
  • Proposes mobilisations and de-mobilisations project automation equipment system and electrical equipment system of the yard.

 

CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS

  • BTEC Higher National Diploma electrotechnics (BTS)
  • Minimum of two years, Maximum ten years of work and supervisory experience in the related field;
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming;
  • Knowledge of Siemens automation, sew inverter;
  • Knowledge low and hight voltage:
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD LT, electrical software calculation;
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture;
  • Stress tolerance and ability to motivate the team and others;
  • Leadership and capable to work in team and multicultural environment;
  • Portuguese and English, and/or French language knowledge will be appreciated.  

 

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position is based in our France office with work rotations in Angola, Lobito, Sonamet yard;
  • 10 weeks ON, 3 weeks OFF rotation basis for single status;
  • 15 weeks ON, 3 weeks OFF rotation for family status
