Looking for a Project Manager (Mooring Business Unit) who would plan and coordinate the technical expertise and services required to ensure successful delivery of mooring projects. This scope includes studies and tenders as well as live projects. The Project Engineering Manager will contribute to business development and marketing internally to the company's employees as well as externally to the clients as required, support the pursuit of project opportunities and identify/implement the resources and training necessary. Responsibilities may include business development, budget control, project & resource management, engineering operations, performance management, training and all other related business activities. He/She is expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Responsible for the project execution from Tender phase up to Project completion for Floating Wind OR Conventional Mooring and FPS Tow Projects
  • Prepare Project Execution Plan at Tender stage and then execute it as planned or achieve better results
  • Responsible to Business Unit Director for delivery of projects
  • Responsible to Business Unit Engineering Manager for all Discipline related matters
  • Establish jointly with Company, with Project Team and key suppliers, a Project charter that shall govern the success of the project
  • Ensure an injury free workplace on all sites of the projects encouraging and supporting leadership safety initiatives
  • Establish a successful relationship with Company
  • Manage resources and interfaces on project to achieve successful delivery
  • Prepare and present Project Monthly Status Report
  • Accurate and timely reporting of Project status to Company and to Subsea 7 management
  • Ensure all personnel are aware of BMS and PM7
  • Assign budgets to each member of the Project Management team at the beginning of the Contract and embed their accountability during the execution
  • Implement an effective Risks and Opportunities Management system
  • Ensure that the Project financial results are within target or above and initiate any corrective action that may be required for this purpose
  • Ensure real-time monitoring of project progress is in place and any corrective measures are implemented to progress as per the convergence plan established at the start of the project
  • Identify and manage Contract changes and notify Company in a timely manner, of their impact on costs, work schedule and Contract obligations
  • Manage and participate in audits of projects and studies
  • Identify project resource requirements and liaise with Business Unit Engineering Manager and other disciplines to ensure availability and allocation
  • Promote and facilitate project team awareness of company QA and HSE procedures.
  • Agree and monitor performance objectives with direct reports
  • Provide regular feedback of “lessons learnt” and ensure proper closing out of the Contract, internally, with Company and Subcontractors
  • Based on project location, comply with the Local Content regulations and ensure all activities are performed in full respect of compliance regulations
  • Ensure that all internal and external interfaces are identified and closed out in a timely manner
  • Ensure that project team maximize Group knowledge management tools

 PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Offshore or Marine disciplines with at least 10 years minimum relevant work experience in moorings/offshore oil and gas
  • Experienced in project management of Anchor Pile and Mooring Installation/ FPS Tow Projects
  • Working knowledge of Anchor Handling and Tow Vessels
  • Strong knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Strong contracts and commercial background
  • Ability to lead a design/installation team across multiple projects
  • Good communication skills required. Must be fluent in both writing and speaking of English language. A second international language would be a plus
  • Ability to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to prioritize own and others’ workload, manage time and change control accordingly and direct team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of program or budget
  • Ability to manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers
  • Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Majority of the work would be carried out of Subsea 7’s Houston office
  • Requirement for some local and international travel (up to 25%)
  • Offshore/Off-site location (within and outside the US) during project execution phases as required (up to 25%)
