Your mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

A significant part of Subsea7 Engineering performance directly relies on Computer-Aided Engineering and Design (CAE & CAD) software efficiency.

This efficiency is supported by the performance of the tools themselves, but also on:
-             How Engineers work with them (methods),
-             How they interact (process),
-             Where they run (High Performance Computing – HPC, Integrated Engineering Platform - IEP),
-             How we feed them (Data Management with Product Data Management – PDM - and Product Lifecycle Management - PLM)

As CAE Support Deputy Discipline Manager, you share the supervision and management of the discipline with the Discipline Manager. He/She will specifically focus his action on the activities of the Suresnes office and his area of expertise.

CAE Support team scope and responsibilities:
•            Engineering Software management (technical choices, cost efficiency, needs forecast),
•            HPC platform delivery and maintenance for GPC,
•            CAD and CAE tools performance and interoperability,
•            Integrated Engineering Platform development (platform administration, support and content development),
•            PLM and PDM platform adoption and usage for GPC,
•            Support Technology Development when data science, programming, and CAE skills are required,
•            Facilitate the communication with IT teams (hardware and software provision, problem solving…)
•            Promote Virtual Reality usage for GPC,
•            Facilitate interfaces between disciplines through data management including CAD model (essential for PLM),
•            Support Continuous Improvements initiatives that requires technical support and CAE team skills,
•            Remain on the edge of latest technologies available in the market that could improve efficiency on engineering services.

Business Responsibilities

  • Provision of resources and resource planning for all discipline activities/services on Continuous Improvements initiatives, support to Corporate Function team, Digitalisation project. Participate to the recruitment of personnel in accordance with the resource plan.
    • Organize and develop CAE activities at GPC and Group level through COEs, PLM steering committee, Continuous Improvement initiatives, TD projects and Digitalization projects.
    •            Supervise the IEP platform development (road map, adoption by other disciplines,…)

Personal Responsibilities

  • Manage team members: participate to Compass process, training and development processes, support Graduate Engineer Development Scheme (GEDS).
    • Support the retention of the discipline, proposing and managing appropriate strategies.

Your profile

You have a strong experience and appetite in CAD/CAE software and associated Engineering typical workflows (pre-processing, model solving and post processing).

You are efficiency driven and keen to improve the ways of working through automation and collaboration.

You have some experience in programming languages (Python and VBA preferred)

You are familiar with HPC technologies and Data science area.

A first experience in team management is appreciated.

English is mandatory – French appreciated.

Based in Suresnes (FR) with some travels to other Subsea7 office.

En tant que CAE Support Deputy Discipline Manager, vous partagez la supervision et le développement de l’équipe avec le Discipline Manager. Vous vous concentrerez particulièrement sur les activités de l’équipe de Suresnes et sur vos domaines de prédilection.

Role et responsabilités de l’équipe CAE Support:
•            Supervision des Engineering Software (choix techniques, coût, prévision des besoins),
•            Maintenance et support de la plateforme HPC pour GPC&AP,
•            Performance et interopérabilité des outils CAD et CAE,
•            Développement de notre Integrated Engineering Platform (administration de la plate-forme, support et développement du contenu),
•            Adoption de l’utilisation des plateformes PLM et PDM pour GPC&AP,
•            Supporter les activités de R&D pour lesquelles les compétences data science, programmation et CAD/CAE sont requises,
•            Faciliter la communication avec les équipes IT (provision de hardware et software, résolution de problème …)
•            Promouvoir la réalité virtuelle pour GPC&AP,
•            Faciliter les interfaces entre les disciplines à travers l’échange des données y compris les modèles CAO (essentiel pour le PLM),
•            Supporter les initiatives Continuous Improvements qui requièrent les compétences de l’équipe CAE,
•            Rester à la pointe des dernières technologies disponibles sur le marché pour améliorer les l’efficacité de notre ingénierie.

Responsabilités fonctionnelles

  • Prévision des ressources nécessaires pour l’exécution des activités de support et d’actions de progrès
    • Organiser, développer et promouvoir les activités CAE pour GPC&AP et au niveau du Groupe à travers les COEs, steering committees des initiatives Digitalisation, projets R&D et les initiatives de Continuous Improvement
    •            Superviser les développements de la plateforme IEP (road map, adoption par les autres autres disciplines,…)

Responsabilités personnelles

  • Superviser les membres de l’équipe au quotidien et participer au processus de leur développement avec le support du département des Ressources Humaines
    • Organiser le maintien des compétences au sein de la discipline et proposer des stratégies pour son développement

Your profile

Vous avez une solide expérience et un attrait pour les outils CAO/Calcul ainsi que pour l’optimisation des taches de conception (pré traitement, solveur et post traitement).

Vous êtes animé par la recherche de l’amélioration continue des méthodes de travail numériques.

Vous avez une expérience de programmation et d’utilisation d’API (Python de préférence).

Vous êtes à l’aise avec l’utilisation des technologies HPC et avez quelques notions en Data science.

Une première expérience de management est appréciée.

Vous parlez Anglais et Français de façon professionnelle.

Ce poste est basé à Suresnes (FR) avec quelques déplacements à prévoir sur d’autres sites du Groupe.
