Seaway 7 is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to manage the delivery of two linked packages within a large Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) project. The role will be accountable for all technical, contractual, schedule and commercial aspects, with support from the relevant integrated support functions working across all packages, as is typical in a matrix type organisation.

An important aspect is maintaining lasting positive relationships with vendors and the client. Hence, for this position, we are looking for an experienced individual with a proven track record of successful delivery of multiple, predominantly out-sourced ground preparation/enabling works packages, typical for a fixed OWF project. 

Line management reporting is to Project Director and functional reporting is to Projects and Operations Director, who oversees the Project Management function within the Business Unit.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Seaway 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day management of assigned project package scopes, monitors and co-ordinates the work performed by Engineering, Planning, Risk, Finance & Control, Contracts, HSEQ, Operations and subcontractors
  • Lead team(s) - directs and supports the development of immediate reports assigned with team(s)
  • Ensures that project execution is in compliance with the contract (client/Seaway 7), contractual specifications and client requirements
  • Ensures performance and delivery criteria are agreed and met, project meetings are held, and project documentation is generated and maintained
  • Oversight of issuance of purchase orders and variation orders, processing (sub)contractors’ invoices for payments, as specified with Approval Level Matrix (ALM)
  • Controls the assigned scope budget throughout the project’s duration and generates updates of the budget/cost control report on a monthly basis as required by the Project Director and in cooperation with the Project Cost Controller
  • Represents Seaway 7 in meetings with clients, (sub)contractors and other agencies or organisations as delegated by the Project Director
  • Prepares reports pertaining to operations including close out reports
  • Performs miscellaneous job-relates duties as assigned

Professional Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor level of education (Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Strong experience as responsible Project Manager. Sound technical and operational knowledge of survey, UXO & boulder clearance (diver and diverless), dredged seabed levelling and rock dumping preferred
  • Capable of running multiple project scopes simultaneously
  • Good command of verbal and written English (Essential)
  • Strong commercial awareness, proficient in contracts / claims management and robust negotiation skills
  • A decisive team leader with solid people management skills
  • Able to identify, promote and implement improvements to efficiency and costs

Working Location:

The role of Senior Project Manager may be based at our office in Aberdeen or Sutton. Travelling overseas and/or to our vessels and project locations is an essential requirement of this position.
