Seaway 7 is seeking an experienced Snr Package / Project Engineer (m/f) for the Enabling Works package, as part of the construction of a large Offshore Wind Farm. The important aspects of the Snr Package / Project Engineer role will be establishing and maintaining collaborative approach to management of subcontractors to ensure all technical, contractual, schedule and commercial aspects of the package are complied with. Hence, we are looking for an experienced Snr Package/Project Engineer with a proven track record of delivery on Transportation and Installation projects with a specific focus on Enabling Works, to include seabed survey, UXO and boulder clearance, PLGR and OOS cable removal. 

Line management reporting is to Work Package Delivery Manager and functional reporting is to Engineering Director, who oversees the Engineering function within the Business Unit.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Seaway 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees day-to-day activities of the assigned package scope within the project, monitors and co-ordinates the work performed by Engineering, Planning, Finance & Control, Contracts, HSEQ, Operations and subcontractors
  • Works with supply chain managers (SCMs) to develop tenders and evaluate subcontractors
  • Works with SCMs and contract management to negotiate and finalise subcontractor agreements
  • Ensures that project execution is in compliance with the contract (client/Seaway 7), contractual specifications and client requirements
  • Ensures that performance and delivery criteria are met, project meetings are held, and project documentation is generated and maintained
  • Checks purchase orders and prepares variation orders, reviews (sub)contractors’ invoices for payments
  • Controls the assigned package budget throughout the projects duration and generates budget/cost updates as directed by Work Package Delivery Manager for routine reporting
  • May be required to represent Seaway 7 in meetings with clients, (sub)contractors and other agencies or organisations
  • Prepares reports pertaining to operations including close out reports
  • Performs miscellaneous job-relates duties as assigned
  • Carry out other department related tasks when required by management

Preferred Profile

  • Minimum Bachelor level of education (Science or Engineering)
  • Strong experience required as responsible package or project engineer at a senior level, included within which should be enabling works experience.
  • Proven experience in subcontractor contract management (Essential)
  • High focus on accuracy, attention to details and solid commercial awareness
  • Proficient in survey, seabed intervention (diver and diverless) and UXO works
  • Good command of verbal and written English. (Essential)
  • Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations for the offshore and renewables industries

Working Location:

The role of Snr Package / Project Engineer is based at our Aberdeen or Sutton office. Travelling overseas and/or to our vessels and project locations is an essential requirement of this position.
