POSITION OVERVIEW

Subsea7 has a requirement for an Associate Survey Applications Support Specialist reporting to the Survey Applications Support Manager.

The successful applicant will join a dedicated team responsible for the provision of technical support for Subsea7’s portfolio of internal and external survey software packages. Users include offshore surveyors, data processors and survey technicians deployed across a fleet of over 25 vessels working on a wide spectrum of offshore survey operations including offshore construction support, renewables, seabed mapping, Inspection, Repair & maintenance (IRM).

Prior experience of offshore/hydrographic survey is not essential. In-house and external technical training will be provided, covering offshore survey principles, Survey software packages and system integration.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work within a small team providing technical support for internal & external survey software applications used across Subsea7’s vessels and offices
  • Participate in the response to technical queries logged through Subsea7’s Survey & Inspection Helpdesk
  • Assist with the creation of short knowledgebase articles and technical notes
  • Liaise with software suppliers on reported defects
  • Assist with integration and functional testing of survey equipment and software as directed
  • Assist in the provision of onshore technical support for Remote Operations
  • Brief field personnel in the use of Company standard documents and relevant technical support & guidance
  • Assist with the commissioning of survey software systems on/for vessels
  • Interface with related technical support teams such as Survey Engineering, Data Solutions & Delivery, and Fleet IT
  • Participate in an on-call rota for the provision of technical support outside U.K office hours
  • Occasional short and/or overnight offshore assignments & vessel visits
  • Occasional foreign travel requirements

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to Degree level, HND or equivalent is preferred.
  • Qualifications in Surveying, geomatics, earth science, geography, computing science or related subjects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
