Due to new and continuing projects we are expanding our team of Project Cost Controllers.  This staff role offers an exciting insight into how our Global Pipeline Projects operate and integrate with other Subsea7 business areas.

The role can be based at either our Westhill office in Aberdeen or within the Pipeline Group main office in Old Kilpatrick in the West Dunbartonshire area of Scotland.

What will you be doing?

Providing a valued and critical contribution to the effective control of project costs through accurate, timely and ongoing project cost analysis and financial reporting. 

Through understanding the project scope (of varying type and size), the tender budget will be transferred to a cost model and budget set up, thereafter controlling change management, variation estimating, cost reporting, risk contingency and management as well as all forecasting activities.  Other duties include:

  • Create and maintain collaborative relationships with project and other key personnel.
  • Establish a project coding structure, interfacing with Project Planning teams, as applicable.
  • Establish and communicate processes to team members, e.g. finance and compliance legislation.
  • Conduct reconciliation of forecast and actual expenditures and produce project accruals.
  • Produce short- and long-term cash flow projections in a continuous and timely manner.
  • Interface with budget owners on a regular basis to review commitments.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Demonstrable role relevant financial experience within a Projects environment.
  • Part qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
  • Qualified by experience will also be considered (ideally open to future study/development).
  • IT literate across the MS Suite, proficient in Microsoft Excel (including advanced pivots/lookups etc)
  • Working knowledge of SAP is preferable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Culturally aware, builds and maintains strong business relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Collaborative team worker who also demonstrates initiative and ownership.
  • Pro-active and solutions-based, seeks to identify improvements, will challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and an ability to work with detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong planning and organising skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business.
