Who are we looking for?

Due to our continued growth, Subsea7 have exciting permanent staff or long-term contract opportunities for Senior Installation Pipeline Project Engineers to join our Pipeline Group (PG) in either our Sutton, London or Westhill, Aberdeen offices.  PG are the team responsible for the full installation process from the procedure preparation right up to following through the offshore operations. Our engineers are responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects and tenders with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations.

You will be part of a team of installation engineers, dealing with different pipeline installation methods (S&J Lay, reel lay) for a package of work on either a project or tender. You will help support the efficient day-to-day running of the installation engineering team and provide regular operational reports on general project engineering activities, technical subject matters and resource management.

What does the role involve?

Duties of the Installation Pipeline Project Engineers can involve but are not limited to:

  • Follow project scope from early engagement with our internal and external clients through to offshore execution on board our reel lay assets
  • Produce installation method statements and procedures, support procurement activities and subcontract follow up, proactively support HSEQ activities and prepare and deliver technical presentations
  • Installation rigging calculations and rigging design
  • Assist Tendering department with feasibility studies, method statements, manhour estimates, schedule inputs and costing support
  • Supporting installation aid procurement, fabrication and testing follow up
  • Follow your scope offshore on our installation vessels

What do you need to have?

  • You will be degree qualified in Engineering/Marine/Naval/Offshore Technology/Civil/Mechanical or equivalent
  • You will have relevant experience as a project engineer in an offshore pipeline installation field, particularly in the reel lay discipline (i.e. Reel Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay)
  • Ideally you will have previous offshore worksite experience will be beneficial
  • Collaborative team worker able to work autonomously and take ownership.
  • You should be a strong communicator, able to speak with all levels within the business, who is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team
  • You will have excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management
  • You will be highly motivated and be able to show a demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
  • You should have a commitment to Continuing Professional Development
  • This role may involve short spells of overseas travel so candidates may need to show a willingness and flexibility
