Role Profile
Job Title: Equipment Technician
Reports to: Senior Equipment Technician
Location: Worldwide Onshore & Offshore
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Responsible for the repair, maintenance and calibration to all welding production equipment, peripherals and associated components.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Equipment calibration, maintenance.
- Support welding and production activities as required.
- Deal with technical issues for equipment, problem solving and fault finding as required.
- Ensure that certification and equipment records are maintained.
- Promote safe working practices.
- Maintain Data Acquisition equipment and be point of contact for technical support.
- Ensure Electrical / PAT Testing is carried out on required equipment and up to date.
- Support Tie in operations including purging equipment, umbilical’s and other associated equipment.
- Maintain and support pipeline transportation and alignment equipment.
- Help Maintain spare equipment/component stocks and ensure inventory is updated at site.
- Ensure planned maintenance regimes on equipment are carried out and recorded.
- Fault find/trouble shoot/problem solve as required.
- Feedback lessons learned and help update Site Task Instructions where required.
- Help oversee equipment set up on site as requested by the Senior Equipment Technician.
- Take responsibility for safety of self and others.
- Conduct online maintenance checks when required and as scheduled.
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Senior Equipment Technician, Welding Foreman/Superintendent or Production Manager as requested.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Experienced time served engineer with electrical, electronic and mechanical experience is preferred.
- Experience of production / automated manufacturing maintenance would be preferred.
- Must have proven fault-finding skills and ability to resolve minor malfunctions/equipment errors at shop-floor level.
- Must be computer literate ideally with experience of software interfaces e.g. PLC programming, robotic.

- Job shadow (during production) with experienced Senior Equipment Technician – on job training on maintenance procedures / fault finding
- Automatic welding equipment – direct manufacturer training or structured internally designed programme
- Bevelling equipment – direct manufacturer training (ideally onsite) or structured internally designed programme
- Line up equipment – direct manufacturer training (ideally onsite) or structured internally designed programme
- Calibration and maintenance procedure under instruction of experienced Equipment Engineer
