Sites: Ingleside, Vigra, Bintan, UBU, Angola, Glasgow

Candidates should be prepared to work across variety of locations.

Rotation: 8 On 3 Off / 6 On 2 Off

 

Role Profile

 

Job Title: Senior Pipe Facer

Reports to: Bevelling Superintendent

Location:  Worldwide Onshore & Offshore

                                                 

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

 

Responsible for supervision and management of all pipe facing operations on work sites both on and offshore as required.

Responsible for supervision of all pipe facing operations, including supervision and training of onsite Pipe facers.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

 

  • Provide technical expertise for company and act as focal point for pipe facing issues.
  • Responsible for pipe facers job allocation and shift allocation.
  • Train and support site pipe facers as required.
  • Maintain spare equipment/component stocks and ensure inventory is updated at site.
  • Ensure planned maintenance regimes on pipe facing equipment is carried out and recorded.
  • Determine work schedule and resource levels to meet pipe facing demand to ensure site has enough equipment and manpower for each job.
  • Fault find/trouble shoot/problem solve as required.
  • Feedback lessons learned and help update site pipe facing Site Task Instructions where required.
  • Prepare PFM’s and set required parameters and tolerances.
  • Oversee equipment set up on site.
  • Provide cover for site bevellers when required.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching and support as required to direct reports
  • Take responsibility for safety of self and others.
  • Prepare PFM’s and set required parameters and tolerances.
  • Manage bevellers to ensure that pipe-end bevels are prepared in accordance with the project specification tolerances.
  • Conduct continuous quality checks.
  • Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Bevelling Superintendent or Dept Manager.
  • Use of Plasma and Burning Equipment.
  • Use of Bandsaw for cutting pipe coupons etc.
  • Use of External Clamshell type machines.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

  • Experience of pipe facing operations and knowledge of pipe facing machines required.
  • Experience of using various types of pipe facing equipment is required.
  • Mechanical or a machining background is required.
  • Experience of using abrasive equipment is required.
  • Supervisory experience would be preferred.
  • Assumes accountability for successful delivery of own work objectives.
  • Communicates effectively and articulately at all levels
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and flexibility in work approach
  • Works well independently, shows good initiative, demonstrates good decision-making skills and responses proactively to problems/issues.
