Fabrication Engineer

Location: KSA, Dammam

Contract Duration: 2 years

Function Description

Subsea 7 is looking for talented Fabrication Engineers who will be responsible of full ownership for all fabrication activities for the scope defined by the Project Fabrication Manager, including testing stages, coating and load-Out.

The Fabrication Engineer must ensure that fabrication is performed according to the Contract and all project requirements. They are the relay between project teams and fabrication personal on site.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Organisation of fabrication activities to meet HSE, quality, schedule and productivity requirements.
  • Ensuring that decisions and procedures related to HSE are implemented by site. Participating to toolboxes. Acting as a leader regarding HSE.
  • Ensuring that all HIRA for the activities of the scope of work are anticipated and well implemented.
  • Reviewing all drawings and specifications related to the scope of work
  • Reviewing and Validating all fabrication drawings
  • Issuing technical queries after review by the Fabrication Manager
  • Monitoring Material requirements, deliveries and issuance. Preparation of material reconciliation on assigned scope
  • Review of fabrication schedule including procurement, engineering, construction, testing stages, coating and load out. Assess discrepancies on weekly basis and highlight them to the Fabrication Manager.
  • Preparation of handover documentation, completion certificate and punch list in co-ordination with the QC team.
  • Issuing lesson learned for the scope of work

 

Interfaces

  • Internal
    • Providing input to the Fabrication Manager for project reporting.
    • Providing input to planning engineer for progress monitoring and schedule updating.
    • Providing inputs for risk assessment sessions.
    • Inform the Fabrication Management team and Subcontractor about any change on drawing, specification or scope.
    • Advising the Engineering team and  Fabrication Management team about any discrepancy between specification and standard yard procedure.
    • Maintaining a high level of internal communication. Co-ordination of fabrication activities with relevant Departments, all involved supervisors and key personal.
    • Co-ordinating and anticipating with engineering department for testing, handling procedures and load-out to be issued to allow proper review cycle without impacting the project schedule.
    • Follow Up of interfaces for post-fabrication phases (transportation, installation).
    • Co-ordination with QC team for as-built dossier preparation   
  • External
    • Maintain good communication on site with Subcontractor, Company and Project fabrication personnel.
    • Co-ordination of other subcontractors scope of work (FJC, painting,…)
    • Participate to the project weekly meeting related to its scope

Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical Engineering
  • Sensibilization in structural Engineering, Fabrication or O&G activities is a plus
  • Fluency in English
