Graduate Engineer- Design & Analysis

Location: Singapore

Under supervision, the graduate engineer assists more senior engineers to produce design engineering works relevant to pipeline and/or structure and/or installation engineering. The work scope may include supporting studies and tenders as well as live projects in the field of energy sector including conventional oil and gas construction, and potentially wind farm.

 

Key Responsibilities & Activities 

  • Under direct supervision, assists with production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
  • Consolidates knowledge in areas of pipeline / structural engineering / naval architect, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice.
  • Awareness of clients' needs; addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
  • Assists in the production of technical documentation, such as technical scope of work for tendering job, pipeline mechanical design, structural engineering reports, cable lay analysis and/or naval architects works on fixed platforms, fixed wind farms, and floating wind farms..
  • Makes effort to become aware of all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements.
  • Participates in meetings/correspondence with Clients, subcontractors, 3rd parties, etc. in a junior capacity.

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Graduate with a degree in civil / mechanical engineering / naval architect.
  • Ideally, candidate obtained post-graduate degree on offshore related engineering at master/PhD level with exposure to softwares such as Abaqus, ANSYS, Orcaflex, Staad Pro, SACS, and MOSES

  • Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
