What is the role?

We are looking for CPS Engineers who can be based in our office in Aberdeen, Oslo or Zoetermeer on a permanent staff or contract basis.

As a CPS Engineer you will support internal stakeholders with the execution of scopes of work, global analysis studies, local structural analysis & design suitability testing for fixed offshore wind CPS and associated equipment.

What will your responsibilities involve?

Your daily activities will consist of:

  • Being the contact point for any matters relating to Cable Protection System (CPS) design and related analysis.

  • Review supplier documentation to ensure the suitability of the proposed solution.

  • Advise the project team on potential areas of optimisation.

  • Conduct and overview analysis studies.

  • Review detailed component analysis documentation.

  • Review ultimate limit state (ULS) & fatigue limit state (FLS) reports.

  • Resolve technical queries and recommend solutions to engineering problems.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and relevant codes.

In between projects, you might be asked to:

·       Complete lessons learnt evaluations.

·       Optimise work processes.

·       Develop internal best practice guidelines.

You will also be given the opportunity to participate in offshore deployments to assist field engineers during the installation of the CPS.

From time to time the role holder may also be required to perform any other necessary activities within their experience and capabilities.

What are we looking for?

  • We encourage applications from those with a relevant Bachelors / Masters degree (for example Mechanical / Marine / Naval Engineering) and will also consider those with equivalent technical qualifications or experience.

  • Previous working experience as a Design Engineer in an umbilical or CPS related environment with a proven background in analysis.

  • A good knowledge of OrcaFlex and FEA software.

  • Good technical & communication skills.

  • The candidate should be creative, enthusiastic, structured, focused, independent and take ownership in the work.
