Your mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

Within the Contract Specialist department, under the responsibility of the GPC & AP Commercial Performance Director, the Subcontracts Specialist will be seconded in the Supply Chain Department and will operationally report to the GPC & AP Supply Chain Director.

As a Subcontracts Specialist you will liaise with the GPC & AP Legal Director on a regular basis to validate deviations from Subsea7’s standard contracting principles and get necessary approvals.

Your main missions will be:

  • Draft and negotiate legal and contractual documents to support the supply chain strategies and partnerships with suppliers: NDA’s, Frame Agreements, MOU’s, Pre-bid Agreements, LOI’s, Purchase Orders, Subcontracts, …
  • Support contractual negotiations with Suppliers on tenders and projects
  • Understand commercial benefits and risks: Qualifying and making recommendations on subcontracts and purchase agreements to maximise commercial benefits and manage risk;
  • Change management: Applying change management principles and procedures for preventing and controlling changes by Suppliers;
  • Contract obligations: Meeting contract requirements for ensuring all subcontracts and purchase orders obligations are met
  • Stakeholder agreement: Engaging stakeholders to identify and resolve differences through negotiation to reach a mutually agreed solution;
  • Bidding, contracting and subcontracting: Uphold bidding and contracting principles, subcontracting principles and associated deviation processes;
  • Financial awareness: Developing and maintaining understanding of commercial issues affecting Subsea 7;
  • Subsea 7 and general industry awareness: Developing and maintaining organisational, competitive environment and key supplier awareness.
  • Preparation of subcontracts and purchase orders documents
  • Contracts and Documentation: Preparation of contracts including NDA’s, Main Contract Flowdowns, Frame Agreements etc
  • Project correspondence; preparation of formal correspondence to subcontractors/suppliers;
  • Familiarity with bidding and Contracting Principles, Subcontracting principles and deviation process.

Your profile

  • Degree in Law
  • Affiliation/member with nationally recognized professional body.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in subcontracts management in a similar environment is required.
  • Good command of English language, written and spoken.
